Register to Bid

Next you must register to bid, which can be done online, in person or by telephone. To register to bid, please contact us by email with all the necessary details including name, address, telephone number and proof of ID, or alternatively register to bid through our online bidding partner LiveAuctioneers by clicking here.

Choose a Bidding Method

In Person – Nothing quite beats the thrill of bidding person. Prior to bidding in person, it will be necessary to register your details with us, including photographic ID and proof of address, so that we can allocate you an auction paddle number.

By Telephone – If you are unable to attend the auction in person, you can still bid via the telephone. You will need to register with us beforehand, and notify us that you would like to bid by telephone. One of our client service representatives will then call you during the sale as we are approaching your lot, allowing you to bid through your telephone representative live during the auction. Please contact us by telephone, email or in person to arrange this.

By Absentee Bid – We can also facilitate absentee bidding, which allows you to leave a written bid with us prior to the sale. The auctioneer will then execute this bid as cheaply as possible on your behalf during the sale. Please contact us by telephone, email or in person to arrange this.

Bid Online – We also offer bidding through our online bidding partner platform LiveAuctioneers which can be accessed by clicking here


If you are successful in bidding at auction, you will receive post sale notifications by email, including:

  • An invoice detailing auction sale price and all other charges such as buyer’s premium, VAT, etc.
  • Details of how to pay
  • Information regarding storage & collection
  • Shipping information.


We are very pleased to be able to offer a comprehensive in-house shipping service on all lots sold and include a shipping quote automatically on all invoices for your convenience.

All packages are dispatched fully trackable and insured up to their full value for your peace of mind.

Our main courier of choice is DHL and we use their express service.

(i) Domestic UK packages are charged according to the below pricing bands, dependent on the invoice amount:

Band A – £1 – £2,500.         Cost is £20.00

Band A – £2,501 – £4,000.   Cost is £30.00

Band B – £4,001 – £6,000    Cost is £40.00

Band C- £6,001 – £8,000     Cost is £50.00

Band D – £8,001 – £10,000   Cost is £60.00

Band E – £10,001 – £15,000   Cost is £70.00

Band F – £15,001 and above   Cost is £80.00

International Packages are charged as follows:

i) Up to £250 in value charged at £30.00 per package;

ii) In excess of £250 in value charged at £40.00 per package plus insurance at a rate of 1% of the total purchase price.

Storage & Collection

We will happily store purchases free of charge until the Friday at the end of the week following each auction. After this point, unless otherwise agreed in writing with us, all lots will be subject to a storage charge of £10 per day plus VAT.

Following each auction, goods will be available for collection from our office in Notting Hill in our normal opening hours, otherwise by appointment.

Buyer’s Premium

All lots purchased at auction and by private treaty will be subject to a buyer’s premium charged at a rate of 25% of the hammer price unless stated otherwise in the details of any particular auction. This premium is subject to VAT payable at the standard UK rate.
